Honk if you like a Florida judge's decision to scrap a law that didn't allow car stereos to pump up the volume.
Better yet, turn your radios up. Way up.
A three-judge panel of the 2nd District Court of Appeal ruled Wednesday that the state law that makes it illegal to blast music in a car unconstitutional.
Surprisingly, the ruling came as a result of two cases in the Clearwater area and not South Florida. Either way, Miamians benefit.
Now you can play that Michael Bolton as loud as you want without fear of a $30 ticket from a cop.
The issue isn't completely settled because the state Supreme Court is expected to comment on the "vagueness" of the law.
Some state legislators were trying to make fines even stiffer for those who turned a deaf ear to loud music warnings, but once again, a Miamian turned up the volume and represented for music lovers in the Legislature.
Miami Rep. Oscar Braynon helped kill the bill during the final week of session, Naked Politics blog reported.
“It points to a certain population that prefers this music, prefers the music playing this loud,” the 34-year-old Democrat said. “I happen to like to play my music a little louder.”
So do we.
